Please welcome Herman Pate to the Atlanta Area Council as a District Executive, serving the South
Atlanta District. Herman will report to Field Director, Monique Taylor.
Herman is a graduate of the University of West Georgia with a Bachelors of Business Administration in
Accounting. Herman has been active in the community including planning events for the 100 Black Men
Leadership Academy. He enjoys cooking, playing chess and watching classic movies.
As District Executive, Herman’s role will be to support volunteers in growing the Scouting program in the
South Atlanta District. Herman’s top priority will be to work closely with the community to make Scouting
the “Premier Choice” for families, donors and volunteers.

The Eagle Scout Badge is the highest youth award which may be earned by a member of the Boy Scouting
program. It represents another step forward by the Scout toward the BSA's goals of developing citizenship, of
imparting character development and enhancing personal fitness. While the Eagle Scout Badge is one of
seven badges which the Scout earns, the achievement of the Eagle Scout Badge is indeed the highest honor
that a Scout may achieve.
